The Healing Capabilities of MSM

Methylsulfonylmethane, or simply MSM, is an organosulfur compound that occurs naturally within humans, plants, and animals. It was originally discovered in the early 1980s by Dr. Stanley Jacob and Dr. Robert Herschler and has been a substance of interest ever since.

It is now understood that low levels of MSM in the body can be associated with unexplained fatigue, high sensitivity to psychological and physical stress, depression, and a number of degenerative diseases. The problems associated with insufficient MSM levels can hinder one’s clarity, focus, and overall performance, which is why it is important to be sure that our diets are providing us with the amount of MSM that the body needs.

On top of maintaining the regularity of the body, regular MSM intake has also been studied to have some fascinating healing capabilities for treating ailments such as:

  • Chronic Pain
  • Joint inflammation
  • Hair loss
  • Allergies
  • Stretchmarks
  • Sunburn
  • Wrinkles
  • Sour stomach
  • Hemorrhoids
  • Osteoarthritis
  • And many more

  • MSM can be consumed in the form of 800 mg-1000 mg tablets, 1000 mg capsules, or, perhaps the most popular method, pure MSM crystals dissolved in a juice or water. Small doses of MSM can also be received from raw, plant-based foods along with non-processed cow's milk and certain coffees and teas.

Being sure to include MSM in one's diet will have favorable effects on the health of the body and the mind; relieving the body of physical annoyances and ailments frees the mind from distraction and allows one to more easily channel their focus on what is important to them. As research continues, we will continue to discover new treatment possibilities for this fascinating compound.
